Play a PGA TOUR stop. Golfweek has ranked Tom Weiskopf’s final design the No. 1 public course in Utah. The fairways are wide, and your forecaddie has your back on a course so beautiful people don’t believe it’s real.

Copper Rock plays like a classic links course set in the desert. It sits next to Sand Hollow State Park, with the Hurricane Cliffs on the horizon. LPGA pros have competed here, but the course stays friendly for everyday golfers. Just give the greens a careful read, and you’ll be rewarded.

Heading to Zion National Park? Coral Canyon is on the way. Expect wide fairways, big elevation changes, and Pine Valley Mountain views. Play 18 in the morning, and you can still make the park by afternoon.

This is where Greater Zion golf started. Dixie Red Hills opened in 1965 with only seven holes finished because folks couldn’t wait. Today it’s a quick nine near downtown St. George, easy to fit into any schedule. If you miss it, you’ll regret it.

Near Snow Canyon State Park, Johnny Miller routed Entrada through black lava and sandstone. The greens run fast, and the slope rating ranks among Greater Zion’s highest. It’s a private club, so staying at the Inn at Entrada gets you the best chance of booking a tee time.

Locals love Green Spring, and they’ll warn you about No. 6. They call it the Devil’s Gulch, one of the toughest holes in Utah. The other 17 holes are friendlier, with lush greens and Pine Valley Mountain views. Make par here and brag all week.

Golf Digest and Golfweek keep this ourse on their Top 100 lists, and one round tells you why. Red sand frames the fairways, and the back nine hugs a cliff edge, offering incredible vistas that Golf.com calls “arguably the most breathtaking back nine in the entire Southwest.”

Don’t let the scorecard fool you. Sky Mountain might be one of the shorter courses, but it makes you earn every stroke. Your reward: views of Zion National Park from elevated tees. Play it smart, and this course gives you a real shot at your best score of the trip.

Southgate is made for walking. This St. George city course follows the Santa Clara River, and water comes into play on plenty of holes. It’s short but never dull, and it suits golfers of every skill level. Play smart, not long, and pack a few extra balls.

St. George Golf Club is where locals play, a traditional city course in the heart of town. At 7,217 yards, it tests your driver, but friendly greens give strokes back. Walk it, and watch out for the Fort Pearce Wash. It loves a stray ball.

Sunbrook Golf Club features 27 championship holes, broken out into three distinct nines – The Pointe, Woodbridge, and Blackrock. Weaving from the top of the bluffs to the bottom of the desert floor, every hole is unique. Don’t miss Woodbridge No. 4, where you’ll tee off high above an island green.

SunRiver has the only bentgrass tees in Greater Zion, so every drive starts on thick, smooth turf. Generous fairways and true greens follow, with the Virgin River and Pine Valley Mountain views along the way. It’s just off I-15, an easy first or last stop on your trip.

The Ledges sits on the cliffs above Snow Canyon State Park, so the canyon keeps you company all round. At 7,145 yards, it asks for every club in your bag, but long, approachable greens give you chances to score. Book an on-course room, sleep in, and play it again.
