Sky Mountain Golf Course

Sky Mountain Golf Course is as scenic as it is challenging.

Near the city of Hurricane lies a picturesque landscape featuring sandstone and flowing desert hills with views of Zion National Park in the distance. Golfing at Sky Mountain Golf Course feels like riding on Cloud Nine. Owned and operated by the City of Hurricane, this 18-hole course is much more challenging than the yardage implies and creates ample opportunity for golfers to shoot consistently good scores.

Hole 16 is a par-3 that trails along the side of a cliff, creating high stakes and high levels of thrill. From the tee box, golfers can take in the panoramic views of the entire course. While progressing through the hole, the view will shift from the course itself to the incredible views that lie beyond, including the red rocks for which Greater Zion is known, and the more traditional mountains that are associated with the state of Utah. The blend of the two environments is a unique phenomenon, inspiring golfers to elevate their game to match the scenic elevation.

Following quickly after is hole 17, a tricky par-4 that requires golfers to use their best driving skills to navigate over a ravine. As an added challenge, the tee shot is completely blind. Golfers can either take the safe route and shoot with their wedge, or they can opt for the drive and test their strength and precision among the reverent mountain ranges and red-rock canyons.

The final signature hole at Sky Mountain Golf Course is hole 18. Stunning scenery accompanies golfers as they finish up the course on this long par-5. The length of this hole creates plenty of approach options. Golfers with the right combination of skill and precision can complete this hole in only two strokes if they are willing to take risks; however, the more mellow, strategic golfer has the same opportunity to thrive at the conclusion of the course if they play it smart.

Sky Mountain Golf Course does have light concession options available at Sky Mountain Grill, with plenty of other top-notch dining establishments nearby.
