Dixie Days Trek

Watercress Springs and Old West Spring played pivotal roles in the founding and development of St. George, Utah. These springs provided essential water sources for indigenous peoples and early settlers, making them vital for survival in the arid climate. Watercress Springs, named for the abundant watercress plant that thrives in its clear waters, not only supported agriculture and daily needs but also became a lush, green oasis in the desert. Old West Spring, crucial for the pioneers, was instrumental in sustaining livestock and helping the settlers establish a foothold in the harsh environment.
