The Washington County co-op marketing program was created to help secure and support activities that will generate economic impact and enrich residents’ quality of life. The Tourism Tax Advisory Board receives and reviews co-op applications twice each year.

Round 1 Applications must be received no later than February 1. Round 2 Applications must be received no later than August 1.

Our funding comes from two sources tied directly to visitor spending in Washington County. TRT funds are generated by the tax visitors pay when they stay overnight in local hotels, short-term rentals, and RV parks. TRCCA funds are generated by visitor spending on tourism, restaurants, cultural experiences, conventions, and airport-related activity. Because these funds come from visitors, they must be reinvested to continue supporting and growing tourism.

To be eligible, your event or project should bring visitors to the area in a meaningful way. The strongest applications clearly show how they will generate overnight stays or create a measurable positive impact on tourism in Washington County. All funding decisions are reviewed by the County Commission. They consider whether a project supports both tourism and the overall well-being of residents, including safety, health, prosperity, and quality of life, while aligning with county goals.

In short, if your project attracts visitors to stay overnight and creates a positive impact for both tourism and the community, it is likely a strong fit for this program.
