Burns Arena

The Utah Tech University Burns Arena is regarded as one of the finest collegiate arenas in the nation at the Division II level. It is the primary facility for Utah Tech’s men’s and women’s basketball. The site also hosts various concerts and community events throughout the year. Burns Arena was constructed in 1985 and saw its first games played in 1986. The design came from the architectural firm of Ferguson, Fowler, Kingston and Rubin; the crew from Weyer Construction erected the building. The arena is named for M. Anthony Burns, born in Mesquite, Nev., prior Utah Tech University student, and the former president/CEO of Ryder Systems. The arena contains 4,779 permanent seats in 14 seating sections.
