St. George Dance Company’s “Have A Seat”

The St. George Dance Company invites audiences to be entertained by a special yet mundane, common object: the chair. Chairs, though not very often brought to mind, provide rest, comfort, support, decoration, and ambiance. Chairs hold the stories of the households they serve, and the people they hold up. The couch that provides comfort for the dumped roommate, the seats that briefly serve the various lives that ride the bus, the stool that is claimed by the oldest child as “My spot!”

The St. George Dance Company will tell 13 stories using seats as props and sets at the new proscenium theatre at Vista School on April 21st and 22nd.
