EVENT CANCELED
Out of an abundance of caution to keep filmmakers and patrons safe, the 2020 Docutah Festival, which was initially postponed from November 2020 to March of this year, has been canceled.
DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival celebrates the art of documentary filmmaking, connecting Dixie State University and our community to the world. Residents of our community benefit from DOCUTAH by having their hearts and minds opened through stories on film. Every year more than 65 films produced locally, state-wide, nationally, and abroad tell stories that educate, uplift, and inspire our nearly 8,000 attendees over the course of the week. Subject matters often include themes of safety, health, prosperity, moral well-being, peace, comfort, and convenience. This wide range of films appeals to all ages with patrons ranging from age six to age ninety-six! Last year over 400 volunteers donated nearly 3000 hours in helping facilitate the festival and over 600 students participated in the festival in some way. Patrons, volunteers, and staff rub shoulders with filmmaking personnel from all over the world and can take part in hearing the filmmakers’ experience at one of the many DOCtalk Q & A panels. DOCUTAH also receives community support by way of funding and sponsorships, engaging the business and civic leaders to take part in promoting education and camaraderie.
Oh…and it’s also just a lot of FUN!
