Wooden Tantrum brings Celtic-Irish music to St. George
What started out as a birthday present 14 years ago for Bret Sevy has now become a family band — one with a Celtic sound and public following. The gift was a Bodhran Irish Drum, and it also included an “Irish Jig” assembled by his family that included a harp and two violins.
Today, and hundreds of performances behind them, Wooden Tantrum has grown into a musical sound that draws its own following. On Friday evening, The Wooden Tantrum will perform their lively and refreshing Celtic-Irish style in the historic St. George Tabernacle.
Joining Bret on stage are Brittan Sevy on guitar and Tara Sevy Tichenor on violin. Tara is the concert master of the Southwest Symphony and graduated from Dixie State University with a degree in music performance. She also plays first violin in the Tuacahn theater for the arts orchestra. Brittan has played the guitar since he was 7. Also joining the Sevy family occasionally on stage are Tiffany Sevy Muranaka and Channing Sevy.
