John Smitherman—an Original American Tenor—Teams Up with Local Sensations for a Night of Songs of Love February 15 thru 17th, at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta
After performing to sold-out crowds at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta (CFAK) last Fall, John Smitherman returns for Valentine’s Day to perform songs that connect to the love in all of us. He’ll be joined by some of the most dazzling voices in Southern Utah: Greg and Mimi Knell, McKenzie Morgan, Joyce Clements, and Sammy Myrick. Talented pianist Heidi Webb will accompany. The troupe will perform songs from musicals including “Phantom of the Opera,” “Gone With the Wind,” “South Pacific,” “Oklahoma,” “My Fair Lady,” “Casablanca,” and more. Mr. Smitherman’s exceptional talent has earned him leading-man roles in many productions, including the three leading roles in Broadway’s largest musicals—“Les Miserables”, “Phantom of the Opera,” and “Jekyll & Hyde”—a feat that earned him a spot as one of the original “Three American Tenors.” Smitherman has earned countless awards, including the NY Salt Award (twice), the Handy Award, and many more throughout his long and successful career.
