The Promised Land

This historical drama is an adaptation of The Captain and Ann Barbara, a book by Ida Jessen. The story is set in 1755 and follows Ludvig Kahlen, a veteran soldier who was awarded a piece of land in a Northern European peninsula by the king. He tries hard to establish a life there, hoping to create a thriving settlement with the help of some of the people in the area. However, their efforts are being blocked by an evil landowner who wants to take over the whole area.
