Please join us for the opening reception of The Abstract Impulse exhibit at the Sears Art Museum

This exhibition, drawn from the permanent collection as well as top regional artists, explores abstraction in art.

The abstract impulse in the visual arts is as old as time and can be seen in ancient petroglyphs, Native American textiles, stained glass, and Modern Art. Some abstract artists depart slightly from realistic representation; others leave the real world far behind.
