“History of Politics in Silver Reef ” …and late 19th century America

This lecture will cover the political activity and leanings of Silver Reef residents in the late 1800s. It will also discuss how local activity intertwined with what was occurring on the national level. Topics covered will include political parties and movements, the major issues in elections, the assassination of President Garfield, and the lead-up to Utah getting statehood.

Andrew Peterson is a CPA and the Treasurer of the Silver Reef Museum. He has been volunteering with the Museum since 2013.
